To enhance the interdisciplinary vision and internationalization of curricula, Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science invited Dr. Alex Biedermann, Professor at the School of Criminal Justice, University of Lausanne (UNIL), Switzerland, to deliver the course "Introduction to Evaluation of Scientific Evidence and Decision Analysis" at the Graduate School of China University of Political Science and Law from September 9 to October 8, 2023.
The course comprised nine sessions. Through real-world case studies, it addressed foundational principles and methodologies for interpreting diverse forensic scientific evidence in judicial applications. The curriculum examined how forensic scientists assume evolving roles across different stages of judicial proceedings to explain and assess the probative value of common scientific evidence for fact-finders, thereby supporting legal practice.

With rigorous logic and clarity, Professor Alex delivered an intellectual feast through his lectures. Students actively engaged in discussions, culminating in the successful conclusion of the course.
