Professor Andrew Ligertwood from the University of Adelaide and also as a Vice President of the International Association of Evidence Science taught a six-day “Common Law Criminal Procedure and Forensic Science Evidence” course at the Graduate School of CUPL on October 8, 2018. The course is a key course for the construction of world first-class disciplines, the "2011 Plan" China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization(CICJC, China), the “111 plan” Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment, and Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL. The University of Adelaide is one of Australia's eight elite universities and one of Australia's most prestigious research universities. Professor Andrew Ligertwood is Australia's leading researcher in evidence law.

In the first six lectures of this course, Professor Ligertwood gave a comprehensive introduction to the factual identification and confrontational proof procedures under the common law, focusing on the knowledge of witness testimony and forensic scientific evidence, so that all students can fully understand the common law criminal procedures and forensic science evidence. Later in the course, Professor Ligertwood organized a wonderful mock court to enable the students to experience the panoramic Australian criminal trial process and pushed the course to a climax with complete success!
