Professor of Peking University Thomas Yunlong Man Delivered Courses on “US Law-Constitution-Legal Profession and Practices”

Invited by the "2011 Plan" China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization, the "111 Plan" Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment, Professor Thomas Yunlong Man from the International Law School of Peking University, as well as an adjunct professor of CUPL and a member of International Association of Evidence Science(IAES), successfully delivered an eight-day course, US Law-Constitution-Legal Profession and Practices, in CUPL from May 27th 2019 to June 5th 2019.

Professor Man, who has many experiences as a professional lawyer in the United States, starts his course at the U.S. Constitution and laws, with classic cases including House v. Bell, Marbury v. Madison and the US v. Nixon as clues, based on the M&A, Distribution and Joint Venture contracts in practice. From ancient times to the present, from theory to practice, he delivered eight wonderful courses for classmates, teachers, and legal practitioners.

As a pioneer of the American legal system and pride of ethnic Chinese, Professor Man delivered unique courses with eastern and western style. Though he taught in English, he also explained some tough points in Chinese. During the class, he focused on the course and interspersed with interesting discussions, which aroused the interest of the students. At the end of the class, he reviewed the day of studying by a question-and-answer format, to deepening the students' impression of knowledge.

This course enabled students to learn the basic content of the US Constitution and the basic framework of the law. More importantly, it has established a bridge between law and practice for Chinese students, so that students can feel the beauty of law and the beauty of practices.
