Lately, Professor Paul Roberts, a research fellow in “2011 Plan” China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization (CICJC, China), as well as a professor in University of Nottingham School of Law (UK), published his paper Redmayne’s Character and Criminal Jurisprudence in Modern Law Review, a top scholarly law journal in UK. In this paper, Professor Paul Roberts introduces himself as an adjunct professor of law in CICJC in China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL).
Since its formation in 1937, The Modern Law Review has provided a unique forum for the promotion of legal education and scholarship. It has traditionally maintained close academic ties with the Law Department of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The Modern Law Review has been identified as the "pre-eminent United Kingdom law journal" in a ranking based on statistical data from the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise and enjoyed great academic reputation worldwide. In this paper, on behalf of scholars in the field of evidence law in UK, Paul Roberts remembers LSE Professor Mike Redmayne, the leading pioneer of British evidence law, who died tragically young in 2015. Additionally, Professor Paul Roberts demonstrates and summarizes Redmayne’s typical academic viewpoints about criminal jurisprudence and evidence law .
Professor Paul Roberts is not only the overseas adjunct professor of CICJC, China, but also the overseas key member of the “111 Plan” Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment and the member of the Advisory Committee of Foreign Experts, CUPL Key Laboratory of Evidence Science. Since 2013, invited by the aforementioned institutions, Professor Paul Roberts has been a guest professor to deliver a course named English Criminal Evidence in Comparative Perspective for undergraduates, graduates and PhD students in CUPL. And the course was highly praised by students.
