Two-week lecture given by Professor Paul Roberts from the University of Nottingham has been successfully operated

Invited by China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization, the “111 Plan” Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment and the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL, Professor Paul Roberts from the University of Nottingham successfully gave a two-week course on topic of “English Criminal Evidence in Comparative Perspective” for CUPL graduate students from May 5th to May 15th, 2015.

The University of Nottingham was one of the best universities in United Kingdom and around the world. The law school of it was one of the top law schools with great reputation. Paul Roberts is specialized on criminal evidence law. 

This lecture lasted for two weeks. In these nine days, Professor Roberts mainly focused on the following topics:  
        Part I         Comparative Methodology and Criminal Adjudication
        Part II         Foundational Concepts and Institutional Context of English Criminal Evidence
        Part III        Impact of Human Rights Law on English Criminal Evidence
        Part IV        Comparative Criminal Procedure Reform

Professor Roberts’s vivid teaching style left deep impression to all students who took the course. The lecture provides a great opportunity for students to have access to England criminal evidence law and it is a precious chance to learn foreign law in comparative perspective.

 

Additionally, Professor Roberts has agreed to renew a long-term cooperation with the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL. Students are expected to attending more lectures from Professor Roberts in the future.
