Invited by the “2011 Plan" China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization, the “111 Plan” Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment and the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL, the former president of American Bar Association (ABA), Professor Michael S. Greco successfully gave an interesting and thought-provoking course on topic of "International Criminal Law" for CUPL graduate students during Oct 27 to Nov 6, 2015.
American Bar Association (ABA) is the largest legal profession organization in the world. Prof. Greco was the president of ABA during 2005 and 2006, and now is Chair of the ABA International Criminal Court Project. Besides, Prof. Greco is also Chair of the ABA Center for Human Rights, Chair of the ABA Working Group on a Right to Counsel in Civil Matters, and Arbitrator of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA).
This course contains nine classes, each of them can be divided into three parts: knowledge introduction, debates and discussion. Prof. Greco's vivid way of teaching attracted many students to participate in, he was very serious on the course which left a great impression on the students. In this course, students not only learnt about the history, concept and functions of the International Criminal Court (ICC), but also learnt many debating skills through imitating lawyers debating in courts and Prof. Greco's comments, it benefits a lot to the students for their future development.
The course came to a happy ending on Nov 6.
