Invited by the “2011 Plan" China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization, the “111 Plan” Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment and the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL, Professor Michele Taruffo from the University of Girona in Spain, successfully gave seven inspiring and interesting lectures on topic of " from the perspective of comparative law to see the evidence law and truth" for CUPL graduate students from October 10st to October 16th, 2015.
The University of Girona is located in the autonomous region of Catalonia in Spain. It’s an outstanding public university, and law school is one of the famous colleges in the university. Professor Michele Taruffo is one of the most reputation scholars in the field of international comparison law. At the same time, he is both the vice-president of the international association of evidence science and international association of procedural law (IAPL).
The main content of the course is the analysis of the difference between common law system and civil law system in evidence institution. Professor Taruffo made a comparison between Federal Rules of Evidence and China’s Evidentiary and Procedural by taking China and American for example, then he stated the huge distinction in the arrangement of the fact finding; the kinds of legal evidence; the rules of adoption and evidence exclusive, which induce a new perspective to have a better understanding of the evidence rule in common law system.
