Mr. David Caruso: Miscarriages of Justice in Western Legal Systems: Causes, Review, and Effect

Invited by the “2011 Plan” China Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization(CICJC, China), the "111 Plan" Base for Evidence Science Innovation and Talent Recruitment and the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL, Mr. David Caruso from Adelaide Law School successfully gave seven inspiring and interesting lectures on topic of “Miscarriages of Justice in Western Legal Systems: Causes, Review and Effect” for CUPL graduate students on April 19th, 2017.

The University of Adelaide, Australia, is one of the eight elite universities of the Australian Ivy League and is rated as a five-star university in Australia. Its law school also enjoys a high reputation. Mr. David Caruso is also a well-known scholar in the field of Evidence Law.

The lectures have mainly focused on the following parts, including accusations and litigation subjects, basic principles of litigation, juries in criminal proceedings, history and development of criminal appeals in Commonwealth countries, and secondary appeals. In addition to teaching books, Mr. David Caruso has also added several group discussions to give students a deeper understanding of the principles and procedures of criminal proceedings.
