Baosheng Zhang is Professor of Law, Ph.D. Supervisor, former vice President of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) . He also serves as the Director of Key Laboratory of Evidence Science of Ministry of Education of China and the Co-chair of the “2011 Plan” of PRC national government - Cooperative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization. After receiving Ph.D. of Law from Renmin University of China in 1999, Professor Zhang was invited to visit University of Kent (UK) , Northwestern University (U.S.) , University of Freiburg (Germany) , Harvard University (U. S. ) and the forensic sciene institute University of Lausanne (Swiss) as a visiting scholar.

His research and teaching focus on evidence law, procedure law and jurisprudence. While teaching in CUPL, Professor Zhang serves as Executive Director of China Association for Legal Education, Executive Director of China Association for Trial Theory Research, and Vice President of International Association of Evidence Science. In the meanwhile, he holds positions as Visiting Professor at Jilin University,Wuhan University and Zhejiang University, Visiting Research Fellow of University of New South Wales and Member of International Association of Procedural Law.

Professor Zhang presides several key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Ministry of Justice P.R.C, leading the research in evidence law and legal reasoning. He is a recipient of “Mentor of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” by Academic Degrees Committee of Ministry of Education and the State Council in 2012. His article “Ideas of Legal Reasoning” won second class award of Ministry of Education of Humanities and Social Science Research Achievement in 2006.
