3rd Seminar on Reflection and Prospect of China's Evidence Rule of Law Development & 19th Anniversary of the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, CUPL Successfully Convened

On May 18, 2025, the "3rd Seminar on Reflection and Prospect of China's Evidence Rule of Law Development & the 19th Anniversary Celebration of the Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL)" was convened at the Haidian Campus of CUPL. Jointly organized by multiple institutions, the event gathered over 30 experts and scholars from institutions including the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, and Peking University to discuss theoretical advancements in the evidence rule of law and innovations in forensic science practice.

The seminar revolved around three key themes. The first session focused on theoretical issues in the development of the evidence rule of law, conducting in-depth analyses of the challenges within China's current evidence rule system and proposing valuable recommendations. The second session explored theoretical questions in the advancement of forensic science, covering development pathways for identification technologies related to trace evidence, forensic toxicology, electronic data, and more. The third session centered on the compilation plan for the *China Evidence Rule of Law Development Report*, clarifying its framework construction and detailed implementation.

Participants emphasized that the report not only documents over four decades of development in China's evidence rule of law but also promotes the integration of disciplinary innovation and judicial practice. The concluding remarks highlighted that despite existing challenges, the prospects for the development of the evidence rule of law are promising, and called for sustained research efforts to contribute to judicial justice and the construction of the rule of law.
