From September 7 to 9, 2025, the 5th International Symposium on Sino-Swiss Evidence Science was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Jointly organized by China University of Political Science and Law, Sichuan University, and the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, the event attracted nearly 100 experts and scholars from China and abroad specializing in the field of evidence science.
Centered on the theme "Current Challenges in Evidence Science and Judicial Proof," the symposium focused on theoretical innovations and practical applications in the context of the digital era and artificial intelligence. Several domestic and international experts delivered keynote speeches covering topics such as forensic multimodal biometric identification, the reliability of judicial expertise, and the integrity of criminal procedures. In-depth exchanges were conducted on areas including evidence interpretation, intelligent transformation, evidence reasoning, and the identification of emerging physical evidence. Additionally, a workshop on international standards for the interpretation of forensic science evidence was held on the morning of September 9 at the Sichuan University Law School.
The symposium fostered deeper integration between evidence law and forensic science, contributing intellectual insights to the global development of evidence science.
