IU Professor Joseph L. Hoffmann Gave Lectures on "Evidence in U.S. Criminal Cases"

Invited by the Collaborative Innovation Center of Judicial Civilization and Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science, Professor Joseph L. Hoffmann, the Harry Pratter Professor of Law at Bloomington Maurer School of Law, Indiana University, has given ten consecutive lectures on Evidence in U.S. Criminal Cases at China University of Political Science and Law during December 3rd to December 14th in 2014.

Professor Hoffmann’s ten lectures are focused on the rules relating to evidence in Constitution of United States, including Due Process, Miranda Rule, the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine, the disclosure of evidence and so on. During and after the class, Professor Hoffmann has communicated well with teachers, undergraduate students, graduate students and Ph.D. students of majors of Evidence and Criminal Procedure Law on broad issues of evidence law.

Professor Hoffmann’s free and open style of teaching has inspired and motivated students very much, always encouraging students to express ideas openly. Also, he has prepared many relating reading materials, which are very useful for the study of evidence.

Teachers and students of Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science have highly appreciated Professor Hoffmann’s lectures. Also, there are many students from other schools; even lawyers and alumni of Indiana University has come to the class, expanding the influence of Institute of Evidence Law and Forensic Science a lot.
